I make sculptures based on my life experiences, both real and unreal. Whether the world I’m making is real or not is irrelevant. They are often intertwined. New experiences often lead to an imaginary world. I usually don’t know what it will be like until it is completed. I explore it by making sculptures.
I push and stretch clay. When I see something alive, I try to connect. Sometimes there is a character which is aloof, other times friendly. If I’m in rush, they will often go away.
My works are made from stoneware clay, fired up to 1220°C.
