The process of making ceramics is like replicating mother nature. Ceramic works are made with inorganic materials such as metals and minerals then fired at extreme heat. Chemical reactions happen during this process. The surface effects on my work are created while I control the kiln. Chemical reactions naturally happen in the environment and in our bodies when we ‘feel’. Clay picks up this atmosphere, the atmosphere that floats in the air. We also detect these marginal allusions from what we see. My work is semi-spontaneous for that reason.
